He also oversaw two promotions to the First Division, and suffered two relegations to the Second. A lawyer by profession, he had previously made Liceo the leading name in roller hockey.

Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez has been president of RC Deportivo since 2024. A banker and businessman, he is president of ABANCA, and founder and president of Banesco Internacional. At the head of the Club, he is driving a project based on institutional stability, financial solvency and sustainable growth, with a long-term vision. His presidency heightens the historical values of Deportivo: identity, roots, belief in academy players, social commitment and respect for the Club’s history. Under his leadership, RC Deportivo have returned to professional football.
